Shopping can be a pain in the butt, searching all those racks for particular items you are looking for. Instead, let your own personal stylist with Stitch Fix do all the work and it will be shipped right to your door!
AT LAST! My Stitch Fix has arrived! Ever since downgrading from every other month to quarterly in order to stick to my budget I have been patiently waiting for this one to arrive, tried to provide a helpful note to my stylist, and pinned things. The more details you give them both in your notes and your feedback, the better your fixes are supposed to be and I wanted to make sure that every fix counted since I am only getting 4 a year right now.
Now that it’s here you can imagine my excitement. I’ve never not kept at least one item and usually I don’t keep more just because the price tag is too rich, but I was ready to splurge a little because I’ve been doing so well thus far with my budgeting. Prepare yourself… because this was not what I expected…
1. BRIXON IVY Bonita Crochet Dress / S / $88: Ever since the cut-out waist dresses (or crop tops with pencil skirts) came on the scene a couple years ago I’ve been pining over them, trying to find one for my own. I hadn’t requested such things from Stitch Fix because I hadn’t seen anything similar from them… until recently when I saw a cut-out back dress on their Pinterest board. I figured now was the time to strike and added it to my note for this fix. Much to my dismay my stylist instead saw a cut-out print dress that I had pinned (so yes it’s my fault for putting it there, but I didn’t ask for it). But instead of that particular dress (which I would’ve been okay with) she found a similar dress that had a crochet pattern. Props to her for meeting my unintentionally displayed interest, but I’m not into crochet and even if it had been a cut-out print I would have preferred a different color because you can hardly tell with the black. Also, I already have a black dress and a purple dress of the same shape, both from Stitch Fix in the past, and didn’t need another of either. I suppose there was some confusion regarding my request for a cut-out waist dress when cut-out prints are also a thing. Le sigh…RETURN.
2. A GOLD E Juno Distressed Skinny Jean / 4 / $134: I was super excited about getting white skinny jeans even though I usually dissuade them from sending me pants. But I’ve tried for years to find a pair that wasn’t see through and almost gave up on the idea until I saw another person’s fix featuring a non-see through pair! Hooray! Immediately added that to my note. But when I pulled this pair out, I was saddened to see the rips and frayed hems. But the price tag was the worst. I was fully prepared to pay more than I would normally be okay with for denim but $134 is just crazy. I might have considered it without the distressed details because they did fit perfectly and were very comfortable, but my rational brain probably would have won. RETURN.
3. BRIXON IVY Elmar Embroidered Cutout Blouse / XS / $64: The only thing I liked about this top? The color. The elastic hem at the sleeves, the puffy sleeves, the embroiderey/cutout, the pleating on the front – bleh. I know I said I was into cutouts but this wasn’t it. RETURN.
4. Market & Spruce Sam Hi-Lo Short Sleeve Top / XS / $44: Other than the price, I had no problems with this top. It was cute and comfortable and I liked the hi-lo hem but I just couldn’t see myself spending $44 on a basic gray tee especially when I already have a gray tee (although admittedly not as nice as this one). It was tempting to keep just so I wouldn’t lose my $20 styling fee (which you can apply to any purchase), but the price… RETURN.
5. Nine West Mazzota Cut-Out Flats / 7.5 / $79: When I first heard that Stitch Fix was introducing shoes into the mix, my initial reaction was a resounding no because I am a bit picky when it comes to shoes and have too many as is. However, I was swayed by images of a select few shoes they were advertising and there are a few flats in my collection that could stand to be replaced, so I pinned two of my favorite flats that they offered and waited in anticipation. Unfortunately, these flats were not the ones I had requested and even though they are a cut-out style like one of the pairs I added to my Pinterest board, they just didn’t excite me. And the price was too high even if I had liked them. RETURN.
This was my first ever fix that I didn’t keep a single item. Sad face!
But their customer service rocks and I have another fix on the way next week and they reimbursed my styling fee for this round. Stay tuned!

I got that dress too and sent it back – it was cute but I totally agree it would have been better in a different color, and it was too expensive!
Funny how some things circulate around and then other times when you request specific things they are no where to be found! Best stuff gets snatched up first I suppose.
Wow you are picky, those white jeans look amazing on you!

Haha thanks Danielle! I agree that they fit but I didn’t like the rips. I actually could have handled one or two but there were several worn spots and I really dislike frayed hems. And $134 is too rich for my blood.
ahhhh such a disappointment! But yay for them fixing it (no pun intended..ha :P)–fingers crossed that next time is better!
