Head to your nearest Giant Eagle and take a selfie with Pirate Jonny! You’ve heard abut Pirate Jonny’s on my blog before during events such as #HotSummerEats and #TripleSBites and now you can get your hands on their delicious rubs, seasoning and sauces at over 150 Giant Eagle stores. Additionally, from January 14 through February 20 you can get 10% off their products. I was so excited when I stumbled upon their Garlic Island BBQ sauce at the Giant Eagle at which I normally shop in Columbus that I turned into that weird person talking selfies with a bottle in the aisle. I love garlic, okay?

Which brings me back to the selfie with Pirate Jonny thing. Unfamiliar with Pirate Jonny’s? Here’s a quick summary of a few of their national award winning products that I think would be especially delicious for your Superbowl party spread: Guava Girl is a tropical grilling sauce, containing a blend of Florida guava and orange juice, that is great for chicken, fish, and even pineapple. If you’ve never grilled pineapple, you should probably get on that ASAP. Jamaican Jerk seasoning allows you to add island flavors to anything from the grill to the oven. Two kinds of garlic are blended with Louisiana hot sauce and molasses in the Garlic Island BBQ sauce. The Sweet Island BBQ rub has a classic American flavor that can be used wherever you normally use BBQ rubs or maybe somewhere new – candied bacon anyone? And finally their Sweet Island BBQ sauce may be mild but is full bodied and again is great on anything.
