Creamy Grape Dessert

by Erin

I am sad to say that this is the last of the holiday blog hops. Actually, it may continue on further after this since we’ve all enjoyed participating. But for now, this final round is themed for wine, white chocolate or grapes. Since I rarely make anything with grapes that is what I picked.

This recipe says it all in it’s name. It’s creamy, has lots of grapes and is a dessert. Well, and there’s some walnuts on top. It makes me think of yogurt with fruit and granola but a bit sweeter. Might even be tempted to try it for breakfast too.

CREAMY GRAPE DESSERT

Serves 8

Ingredients:

1 lb green seedless grapes, washed and dried well

1 lb red seedless grapes, washed and dried well

8 oz. fat free plain Greek yogurt

4 oz. light cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup agave (or sugar)

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 Tbsp brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans)

Directions:

  1. Cut grapes in half and set aside.
  2. Mix yogurt, cream cheese, agave (or sugar) and vanilla until blended well. Stir grapes into mixture, and pour into large serving dish.
  3. Combine brown sugar and walnuts. Sprinkle over top of grapes to cover completely. Chill until ready to serve.

Ooh I love grapes! The creamy greek yogurt with the juicy grapes sounds like a perfect pair. I am planning on continuing the Holiday Recipe Club and I hope you want to still participate :)

This sounds so yummy! …and dare I say healthy?! I love grapes, but rarely ever “uses” them in anything. I’ve got to give this a try!

I love that you used grapes in a dessert! I never think to do that, and this looks divine! Way to come up with a great dessert! And very nice to “meet” you through Foodbuzz. Happy New Year!

This is SO inventive! I rarely ever think to put grapes in dessert but after seeing this…I’m reconsidering this one-sidedness.

I never think of grapes in desserts either, but this one is worthy.
